Joyce Moore earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Indiana University's Kelly School of Business and a graduate certification in SAS Programming at Philadelphia University. Joyce has worked in corporate, medical, education and government entities in various management capacities before becoming an entrepreneur in 1993. Presently she owns a real estate company, J. L. Moore Realty. She had a desire to write since high school and started out her college studies to pursue that goal. She occasionally teaches computer technology to individuals and groups.

Joyce is a twice elected Democratic State Delegate and serves her community as a member of the board of several community service organizations including Community, Action of Greater Indianapolis (CAGI), Meridian Kessler Neighborhood Association, (MKNA) and the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) where she serves as youth advisor. Joyce has worked with youth since she was 18 years old, through tutoring, as Boy and Girl Scout leader, PTA, and PTO organizations, High School Cheerleader Coach, Computer Club and Travel Club, and Student Council Sponsor. Her professional memberships include the National Association of Realtors, Indiana Association of Realtors, and Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors (MIBOR.) She is a Graduate of the Metropolitan Board of Realtors (MIBOR) REAL Academy, a highly rated and selective leadership development program.

Joyce is married 40 years to John. Together they have three sons.
