Glenda Y. Hicks is a member of the Professional Woman Network
and also serves as a member of its International Advisory
Board. She is trained in offering workshops focused on Women’s
Issues such as Managing Stress, the Superwoman Syndrome,
and Building Positive Self Esteem, as well as professional
topics such as leadership development, management skills,
customer service, and professional presentations. Mrs. Hicks
facilitates workshops and makes presentations to professional
societies, business employees, conferences, clients of nonprofit
organizations, and college and high school students.
She has served as a volunteer group facilitator for women
of domestic violence, in the areas of self esteem and managing
stress for the YWCA of Northwest Georgia. She is active
in her community, currently serving as Treasurer for the
Cobb
Community Collaborative, a collaborative of organizations
that serve to convene community stakeholders to facilitate
the sharing of ideas, expertise and resources to meet the
needs and resolve issues in Cobb County. She is past Treasurer
for Girls on the Run of Atlanta, Inc., a nonprofit organization
that seeks to educate and prepare girls for a lifetime
of self respect and healthy living through a curriculum that
includes training them to run a 5K race.
Mrs. Hicks is also a Certified Public Accountant, licensed
in the states of Georgia and Florida. She has 20 years
of experience and owns a CPA firm in Marietta, Georgia. She
serves the nonprofit community, by providing a myriad of
consulting services in the area of financial management
and
tax research. She assists her clients in a variety of services
in a capacity as CFO by the Hour as well as on special projects.
Mrs. Hicks holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting
from Florida State University and a Master of Professional
Accounting degree from the University of Miami. She has made
several presentations and participated on panels for such
organizations as the National Association of Black Accountants,
the Atlanta Women’s Alliance, the Pfizer Foundation,
Kennesaw State University and the International Association
of Administrative Professionals.
