Paula Swope said a few years ago if she could make a decent living out of helping people, she would have it made. She has done just that. Throughout her professional career as a grant professional, she has secured nearly $60M for nonprofits. A Kentucky native, Paula attended Eastern Kentucky University where she obtained a bachelor’s in political science and a master’s degree in public administration. In 2019, Paula decided to pivot her career path and prepare to pursue her lifelong dream of being a best-selling author. This led her to becoming a student at the Maharishi International University (MIU). Taking courses at MIU strengthens Paula’s spiritual knowledge and allows for opportunities to study transcendental mediation (TM) practice. Paula accredits TM for giving her “superhuman strength.”

She calls herself a nerd disguised in Gucci sunglasses. At first sight, you would never guess this because of the Jimmy Choos and hair extensions, but do not judge the exterior. Paula will choose a scholarly journal or a challenging work project over something mindless or superficial any day of the week. Even in her spare time, Paula studies and writes. She is passionate about music and jokes that you will find anything from Patsy Cline to Machine Gun Kelly in her iTunes library. Paula runs from anything petty, her inner circle is small, and what she finds most soothing to her soul is silence. Paula lives in Prospect, KY with her husband, Will, her two dogs (Presley & Jerry Lee), and two stepchildren (Nick & Claire).
